It is always a huge compliment when our fellow musicians recommend us to their family and friends. One of our lovely violinists’ mentioned our business to her brother, hence how we ended up being invited to play at this gorgeous wedding! Thank you to the lovely Steph for suggesting us.
A last minute venue change can always be stressful for a couple, but we were very excited to be playing at Assured Ascot Quays. It has a stunning view of the river and is an elegant setting for a wedding ceremony. Add our luscious string trio to this perfect venue and a romantic ambience created for family and friends to enjoy.
Jackie and Pat chose an array of modern (and not so modern) songs for their guests to arrive to. We performed covers of songs by Smashing Pumpkins and Florence + the Machine, while also throwing a few jazz classics in. The bridesmaids walked into The Beatles classic Here Comes The Sun, making way for Jackie’s beautiful entrance to Regina Spektor’s Real Love. The couple signed to The Cure’s Just Like Heaven (please have a listen here) and exited to the upbeat Hey Ya by Outkast.
We played for a short while after the ceremony as guests mingled, playing tunes by David Bowie, The Pixies and Flaming Lips.
Thank you for Jimmy Teo at Izo Photography for the lovely snaps of us.
